Reviewed from notes. Thanks Nicole.
This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a nice looking brown color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute. There’s some nice lightly speckled lacing weaving down the sides of the glass.
The smell had a nice roasted nutty toffee with a nice backup by some caramel and bready notes.
The taste was sweet, nutty, bready with a rich caramel and toffee combination.
On the palate, this sat about a light to medium with a nice sessionable aspect about it. The carbonation was right where it should be for the style and for me. The way this one rolls across my tongue is spectacular as there’s a really nice creamy and nutty sweetness that really makes this one be a really good one.
Overall, one of my all time favorite brown ales that I truly miss when I lived on the East Coast, one day I hope to see you again...one day.

Pours gold into a shaker. White head with good retention recedes to skim surface. Grapefruit and mango aromas. Thick caramel upfront turning to pith before the lasting grassy finish.

Cask at GBBF, 2014. Gold pour with a white head. Stewed veg aroma, not much nose at all. Flavour is a little better- sweet fruit action. Not one to knock your socks off.

This was poured into a pint glass.
The appearance was a dark brown color with a half finger white to off white foamy head that died down at a nice pace. Some stringy spider web lacing slid right on into the beer.
The smell had a light roasty coffee to mild chocolate.
The taste was roasty and somewhat bittersweet.
On the palate, it sat right at a medium in body and was somewhat sessionable. The carbonation was good for the style and for me as it had just enough sharpness about it.
Overall, I say this was a good porter worthy of having again.
