Description

Bottle at Max's: man I think that thus is it but who knows. Pours brownish with loose head. Aroma is cherry, vinegar and tree. Taste is sweetish, somewhat acidic, sour. Tastes old, but not too bad. O

Clear light amber. A ton of rum barrel notes of front, sour plums, malty, apple, vanilla, lots of overripe fruit, alcohol, green unripe herbs. Medium sour and a bit less sweet and bitter. Medium bodied, a bit boozy finish. Complex stuff, maybe a bit rough and unfocused but not bad.

9 June 2023. At Café Rose Red, Bruges. Shared with the lovely Anke!

Hazy red-brown, stable, foamy, tan head. Aroma of malt vinegar, sour cherry, redcurrant, leather, blue cheese, brown bread, red apple. Taste has sour cherry, red apple & red berry in brown-bready, marzipan-like malt body, surrounded by funky vinegar & leather. Tart finish of cherry stone, vinegar and some wood. Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation. Refreshing, not too complex in its acidity, somewhat maltier Flemish Red.

Bottle in Café Rose Red on 8th June 2023. Light pink head on a red body. Cherries (semi-sour) dominate the nose and taste, some woody aging notes within the flavours stop it being just about the cherries.
