Description
Brouwer - eigenaar Luc Vermeersch heeft een grote interesse voor traditionele ambachten. Niet vreemd dus dat hij destijds in zijn tuinhuis een broodoven en kleine brouwerij heeft geïnstalleerd. De minibrouwerij van 30 liter had hij in 1997 in Finland gekocht. Hij kreeg van de fabrikant juist geteld één weekend opleiding. Door veel zelfstudie en het maken van talloze kleine proefbrouwsels groeide zijn brouwkennis en -interesse. Na 10 jaar brouwen schreef hij zich in voor een brouwcursus. Tijdens het cursusjaar smeedde hij plannen voor een grotere brouwerij en begon hij her en der delen van de installatie te kopen. In april 2008 was brouwerij De Leite een feit.

Dark red with airy pink head. Acetic, vinous aroma, berries, cherries and hints of wood. Sour, acetic flavour. Sour cherries and nice barrel notes, marzipan and soft spice. Finish is dry with touches of paint thinner or acetone... but not in a bad way.

Bottle shared. Cloudy orange with virtually no head. Aroma of tart fruits, vinegar and a lovely soft oak barrel character. Flavour is light moderate sweet and moderate sour. Medium bodied with light carbonation.

33cl bottle shared with Kermis. Very thin white head. Cloudy blond pour. Tart aftertaste but the oak aging mellows it out. Nicely done.

0,33l bottle at home shared with a friend. BB 13.Mei.2016. (i guess?). copper / redish color, small off-white head. smells sour, oak, cherries, marzipan, nutty, green apples, some funk, very nice wood notes. very very nice smell. full body, medium bubbly carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes sour, cherry juice, some nuts, marzipan, wood, oak notes, some funk, bit glueish. finishes medium sour with very nice cherry notes, green apples and notes of wood.very very nice one. Rerate: 0,33l bottle at home. bourdaux like color, small off white head. smells earthy, peppery, spices. nice smell. full body, light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes citric, grassy, earthy, peppery, spices, some fruity notes. finishes dry and lightly sour with notes of earth, grass and citric notes. not much fruits on this one. not very good. first one was sooo much better. 7, 4, 7, 3, 15

Bottle on the train to Cotteridge Convention II. It pours clear bright gold with a thick white head. The nose is musty, funky, white wine vinegar, farmyard, grapefruit, sour orange, vanilla custard, honey and brioche. The taste is crisp, tart, bitter, grapefruit, musty funk, sherbet, lemon rind, white currant, oak, vanilla and straw with a dry, earthy finish. Medium body and moderate, foamy carbonation. Pretty tasty stuff.

Bottle shared on the train to Cotts Convention 2016. Thanks to Paul and Lorna. Pours mostly clear yellow-gold with a bulging, frothy white head. The nose has some salty sweat, light vinegar, acetic acid. Light-medium sweet flavor, with some lemony acidity, pale wood dryness, citrus peel, a slight metallic edge, a little funk. Light bodied with lively, massaging carbonation. Dry finish, with some grassy bitterness, hay, metal, some white grape, lemon, wood. Light acetic burn in the throat. Nice one.

Hazy medium amber colour, two finger frothy off-white head, mostly diminishing (but slowly), good lacing. Sour aroma, lemon, star fruit, peach, apple vinegar, wood, ginger, tart. Smooth medium sweet and sour taste, fruity, lemon, woody, spicy notes. Sourish finish with wood and spice (ginger, anis) notes, medium body, oily to sticky texture, soft carbonation. Smooth and well-balanced, very good sour ale.

Reddish pink color, light pink head. Aroma of cherry and raspberry. Taste is sour berries, light tannins. Decent.8-3-8-3-13. 2/26/2016. Re-rate 9/12/2016: Bottle sample at The Sovereign. More pronounced cherry aroma with tannins. Flavor has cherry and sourdough brownie dough. Holy cow.

Bottle at Nuetnigenough, 23rd February 16. Pours a blond beer, minimal head. Aroma is yeast, some honey, sweet, slight floral. Taste is spice, yeast, floral, honey, slightly watery. Quite nice
