2020-05-20, corked half bottle, recolte 1996/1997, 23 years old; 7% ABV, 6 4 7-3-14=34
Hazy light amber colour. The smell is a bit corky and moldy, with ligght acetic acid and foot. The mouthfeel is very mellow, the acidity is almost gone, there is some cork flavour, malt, a bit of cardboard, some oxidization indeed, some candi sugar.
Downhill, but it's an interesting experience.

Golden color; giant frothy head; persistent perlage. Deep aroma of wood, cellar, citrus fruits... Quite smooth, good body structure; astringent, tarty, light malt, light fruits; a residual sweetness (veeery light). Palate astringent and quite aromatic. Good but not enough aggressive.

Acidic, yet slightly fruity aroma. Golden orange, low blanket head. Nice acidic notes on top of fruit (apples, citrusfruit), some hints of cheese-mold. Refereshing. Exits gracefully.

Pale ochre colour, slight white head, stable. Nose of 'horseblanket', lemon, Brettanomyces, lactic acid. Taste is lemony, Brett again with a very typical appletart flavour, slightly sulphury and CHEESY (old hops). Very refreshing mouthfeel, spritzy. Aftertaste of saddlesoap and old, cheesy hops - and I LOVE IT.

Bottled 250mk. Treble golden brown colour. A fruity aroma. The flavour is a litlle sour, and fruity. A very good gueuze.

Rerate 2014. Bottled from Mitra Bunnik, BB 2017, large sample, served in a tulip glass. Almost clear deep red color, short to medium off-white head with a pink glow, leaving some lacing. Aroma is very fruity of cherry, some marzipan, just a slight tartness, slight oak wood. Quite sweet, but not sugary, but instead very fruity. Slight tartness. Quite thick in body, especially for a 4% lambic, medium carbonation. Very well balanced. On the sweet side for a sour kriek, and on the sour side for a sweet kriek. Lovely. Original rating, 2003. Clear red color, with short quickly dying pink head. Aroma of sour cherries, marzipan. Taste is of cherries, not too sour. Crisp cherry finish. Decent kriek. 2.7

Rerate. Rose foam. No sweet aroma in contrast of many other kriek-beers, but a really cherry-aroma. The flavour is also a pure-cherry-taste. Rate 1: Red like blood, very strong and intense fruity and sweet aroma. Although the flavour is less intense than the aroma.

A cherry red beer with a beutiful head. It tastes strongly of cherry which it also tastes of together with an OK bitternes and a very little sweetnes. It's much less dry and bitter than other krieks I've tried (but not rated). A very well tasting easily drinable kriek.

Rerate: Bottled from Mitra Bunnik, BB 2033, large sample, served in a tulip glass. Hazy golden to orange color, medium rocky slight off-white head, leaving a nice lacing. Aroma is funky, bit barnyard, slight tart, some citrus, hint of oak wood. Bit sour taste, bit sweet. Quite high in carbonation, soft bodied. Easy going oude gueuze, nicely balanced. Original rating: According to the bottle, i’ve sampled Oude Gueuze, but as this is not on the list, and i’m definitely not an expert in Lambics, i’ll leave it this way. This is one of the better Gueuzes i have tasted. Golden color, with beautiful longlasting head. Bit oak-conditioning in the nose. Sour-sweet taste. 3.6
