Can, 2009-09-17 AR: hops, hunny, pear AP: copper coloured body, wee bubbly foamhead, fully lasting F: bitternes, hunny, pear, some carbornation, the ale is not what you expexted by the aroma. This sadly a poor product. I excpect that bottle and even more draft must be better (you hope).

At a tasting, ckear light coppry colour, malty aroma with notes of honeycomb and honey drops. Flcaramel, some light fruit, hints of hops and a dry soda like sensation, light bodied and a short sour aftertaste. easy to drink but not really exciting.

Bottle. Amber with a foam that was small. Rather faint aroma of caramel, malt and maybe a little butter. Thin and watery, no hops. Malt, caramel, cookies and flowers. Boring.

Bottle from Geoffrey’s of London, Antibes, shared with heavy Poured a slightly darker copper colour, off white/beige head that went away slowly. Buttery sweetish malty nose Sweetish butery/fishy taste, notes of lemon, dry. Light earthiness, scant bitterness. Eeh, not impressed.

Cask. Amber beer with a cream colored head. Light hop aroma. Malt and light floral hop flavor. Medium bodied. Malt and light hops (floral, earthy) linger. A bit too smooth.

09/10 0.5 l bottle from the English store in Antibes. It poured copper body with medium sized, slightly off white head. Weak, orange aroma, hoppy. Flavor was orange bitter as well, fine, but simple, with nothing else there except maybe hint of biscuit malt. Also, pretty thin bodied with shorter citrus finish. Was refreshing, but nothing special and easily forgettable.

Draught. Clear brown with some head. Little aroma. Medium body and carbonation. Tangy spicy foretaste with reasonable bitter aftertaste perhaps a little harsh. Nice beer. [10/10/09] [A year later 02/10/10 - very similar scores (7,4,7,3,14), comment on flavour was malt with slight floral and vegetable note and some clean hoppy bitterness in finish.]

[Cask at Oakford Social Club, Reading] Pours amber with a small white head. Smells of sweet malt. Initial flavour of sickly sweet peardrops with just a hint of autumn leaves. Finishes with earth and a hint of bitterness that completely fails to balance the sweetness. Weird… and pretty repulsive.
