bottle. pours dark brown/burgundy, quickly disappearing tan head. Aroma had touch of honey sweetness, toffee and light wood/oak. Flavors, couldn’t help but get a sort of honeysuckle sweetness mixed with mild oak, caramel malts, toffee with hints of mild bitter hops in the finish. Oak is subtle and probably contributed to the sweet touch I see as honey. Some dark fruits elements to be noted.

Cask at Ye Olde Cock Inn, Didsbury. Dark amber with orange, low, fine head. Fruity aroma. Flavor of fruit and hops, blander than Abbott ale, though. Ok malt, but weaker than Abbott. Decent balance, good hopping. Smooth, medium light body. Not quite IPA strength malt or hops--even in the British sense of IPA. Disappointing, but nice enough.

Cask at Ye Olde Cock Inn, Didsbury. Medium to dark amber color. Tall, fine head. Strong, fruity aroma, slightly sweet, like bubblegum. Fantastic. Smooth and mellow flavor. Fruity and spicy with good hops that are not overwhelming. Finish is full of hops and dry, but with a rich grain taste (oats?). Good medium plus body. Very nice, with full flavor.

Tap @ Pullman, Helsinki. Pours nicely amber color with almost no head. Aroma is apple mostly. Flavour is more fruit and hops that adds to the bitterness. Could be more bitter thoug. Low carbonation. Decent bitter.

10th November 2008. Clear deep gold beer. Low carbonation. Competant but dull beer. Light malt, very mild hops. Just a trace of banana. One of those all too typical annoying English palates that manages to be dry and watery at the same time!

Dark brown beer with quite weak and head. Biscuit malts, some toffee and oak barrel and some typical brittish bitter in the flavour. Malts, some roastiness and toffee, hint of oak and overally flavour is surprisingly quite dry. Body is strong enough to make this nice to drink. Good, balanced beer but there are nothing to remenber; maybe this kind of beers are not brewed for me.

Malty cherry nose. Copper, medium yellow head. Creamy mouthfeel. Malty, faint cherry flavor that lingers awhile. Not a favorite style, but enjoyable.
