500 ml bottle. Pours a burnt orange with a small head. Aroma is burnt fruit cake and bread. Some spice on the taste and a burnt, bitter finish. Quite smooth.

Limited batch recieved at the LCBO (back in 2006 - when rated). Pours a deep copper colour with a beige head. Active carbonation and small lacing. At first, I got a sour note and roasted malt for scent. Then, turned into a rusty-hoppy one. Then, got some caramel malt aromas with light fruit. Quite a nice roller-coaster ride for the nose. The mouthfeel is slightly bubbly and syrupy. Excellent mild taste of caramel that is not too sweet, mixed with the hop in the background, and slight burnt wood in the aftertaste. Quite enjoyable and recommended from a great brewer.

[Cask at the Sherlock Holmes, Charing Cross, London, 26/6/10; rating 6/3/7/4/14] Deep amber-red. Good rich malt, toffee & raisin bitter, just the way I like ’em! Surprisingly good for a GK "special". [Re-rate, cask at the Tartar Frigate, Broadstairs, 20/5/11; rating 5/4/4/2/9] (rebranded as London Glory) Amber, moderate off-white head, toffee, mild dusty hop bitterness in finish. Another boring GK identikit beer. Don’t know what I was thinking of with my original rating - I must have been pissed! Rating given is average of the two pints.

Cask at the Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading. Amber with a thin off-white head, musty grain aroma with a touch of citrus; sweet and grainy, but with sickly cheap lemonade overtones and a sticky sweet finish; in fact rather like a pint of cheap shandy. (6/10/2010 - 6/4/5/2/9=2.6)

cask at No. 2 Baker’s Street in Stirling - Pours dark amber-red with a lasting, off-white head. It has a minimal aroma mostly of grainy malt. The flavor is caramel malt with light bitterness. It’s light to medium bodied and pretty good overall. It would be improved if it was a bit more aromatic.
