Description
The Eagle Brewery was previously a Charles Wells brewery site and became part of Marston's (Carlsberg Marston's Brewing Company) wider business in May 2017. The Eagle Brewery continued to brew many of the former Charles Wells brewery brands sold to Marston's including brands such as Bombardier, Courage, and McEwan's.

The Eagle Brewery was later sold by the Carlsberg Marston's Brewing Company (CMBC) to S.A. Damm (Grupo Damm) in November 2022, though Eagle brands remain with Marstons.

Another decent Scottish ale (had it on tap only). Fairly sweet, though......

After a bad experience with Breckenridge's chocolate beer I was a little apprehensive about trying this, but I am glad I did. I can't wait to try the bottled version! This had the perfect hint of chocolate in my opinion. The coloration was also perfect and conveyed what to expect in the flavor exactly. This is a great example of bold flavor with subtle accents to make a great brew.

Sampled cask conditioned. Like an English mild. Soapy with sweetish malta-aroma. One-dimensional.

Most English 'bitters' are not very bitter at all - but this one is! Too bitter for my taste. Rerate: It's NOT too bitter for my taste! (What was I thinking the first time I had it? I must have been out of my mind!) The nutty bitterness is just right, great refreshment on a hot day. Not outstanding, but a GOOD ale, for sure.

Stylish blend of sweet, creamy honey and soft, gentle maltiness. Light copper colour. Not very refreshing, and as it warms it becomes kind of heavy and the rich English malts begin to clash with the cloying honey character.

Dark brown. Soft maltiness, slightly roasrt, nice strong flavours of dark chocolate. Very tasty!
