Bottle, 8%. Very fruity aroma, oxidised or barrelled, some metal. Deep reddish dark brown colour, seems clear. Stable off-white head. The flavour is fruity, malty with roasted bread notes. Rough bitterness in the finish. Sweetish notes to balance. Fairly low carbonation, but just enough.

Bottle, 12%. Mild aroma of dried apricot. Hazy copper colour. Small frothy white head. The flavour is nicely malty, almost sweet. Has some vanilla, white sugar notes, dried apricot. Mild and warming alcohol. Fairly sweet, but balanced nicely by the alcohol. It has subtle vanilla notes, but there is not much barrel in the flavour.

I have had this 33 cl bottle for a while now, my thanks to Belgian Happiness. A long time since I have sampled a new dubbel, time to proceed with a pour inside of my ABGB glass. The body is a dark caramel and the head pours a large top of pillowy foam later settling to a consistent cover of taupe-colored, very fine bubbles. The scent provides a good helping of dark fruit and baked bread. I lift the glass and take a drink to find dates, barrel, grain, leather, raisins and malt. The port provides a bit of a sourish, vinous touch, not bad. Slightly sweet and the same with bitterness. Quite the decent dubbel.

330ml bottle purchased from the Offie, Leicester. Very dark brown, almost opaque with a small beige head. Lots of raisin and fig, cola, lashings of thick port. Sweet taste, lots of raisin with light vinous notes, some black pepper. Bitterness creeps in for the finish. Full oily body with heavy carbonation. Scrummy.
