Bottle. Just cloudy light amber with a tightly-packed 2 cm white head. Aroma has honey and orange blossoms, hints of tropical fruits and pine. Thin body. Light fruity sweetness with nice but perhaps a bit too delicate floral/ herbal bitterness. Brief bitter finish. Not bad: a bit insubstantial but nice fresh hop character.

Draught@Monks Porterhouse, Stockholm. Quite much black colour with a mediumsized brown head. Aroma is caramel, toffee, cream and some slight spicyness along with mildly roasted tones. Flavour is quite similar with some dark dry fruityness added.

Draught@Monks Porterhouse, Stockholm (As Gippsland Bitter). Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is berries, wood and some slight fruityness. Flavour is the same with a pleasant bitterness to it. Quite pleasant, even though it’s rather berryish in the flavour.

(Draught at Monk’s Porterhouse, Stockholm, 2 Nov 2010) Golden amber colour with creamy, beige head. Malty nose with bread, buttery malt and cream toffee. Malty, slightly fruity taste with notes of bready malt, butter, cream toffee and a mild citric bitterness in the finish. Light body, with a touch of sweetness. Nothing spectacular, but highly drinkable and quite tasty.

On tap at the White Horse, Parsons Green. Cloudy brown beer with a tiny white head. Soft creamy palate but has a mild carbonated bite (my favourite type of palate!). Rich malt - porty almost. Toffee and chocolate tones and some tangy fruit in the undertone. Finishes dry and creamy. All the elements come together beautifully. Delicious and spot on but felt like a strong Belgian more than a Scotch Ale. Who cares? Great beer and probably the best Australian beer I’ve had and that includes a great pint of Fosters from one of the first barrel imports in 1980 ....

On tap at the White Horse, Parsons Green. Hazy gold beer with a little white head. Softish dry palate. Mild malt base - a little creamy. Decent hops. Tangerine and orange citrus, whispers of pineapple and mango. Well balanced with the malt. Semi dry minerally finish. Decent pilsner and very drinkable - could session this no problem at all!

On tap at the White Horse, Parsons Green. Clody gold-amber beer. No head. Light dry and crisp palate. Very dry palate!!! Mildly spicy malt. Crisp but tame hops, traces of grapefruit and orange. An okay beer but really too bloody dry mate!
