Description
Since George and Susannah Bateman opened our independent family brewery in 1874, we’ve been using the best possible ingredients and craft brewing methods to make beers that people love.

Four generations later, and we’re still doing things our own way – and have quite a few more beers to our name.

Bottle, 5.0%. Citric aroma, old hops and green apple. Clear copper colour. Nice stable white head. The flavour is sweet with anis/mint feel. Sweet, malty and sewery. Weird and not very pleasant, even though it is not past BB date.

(Cask at Akkurat, Stockholm, 19 Dec) Dark brown, mahogany colour with frothy beige head. Malty nose with notes of dark rye bread and dried fruit. Malty taste with dried fruit, chocolate, dark cherries in brandy, blueberries, caramel, toffee and a punch of earthy hops in the finish. In perfect balance, quite brilliant actually.
