Bottled. A hazy amber beer with a lazing orangey head. The aroma is sweet with strong notes of over ripe fruits, and milk. The flavor is acidic malty with notes of peaches and lighter notes of alcohol and brettanomyces, leading to a dry spicy and slightly woody finish.

Muddy amber with a small off-white head (Long rested bottle, poured very carefully. I prefer less sediment). Aroma is quite unique and surprising. It has grainy and spicy hoppy notes that matches the lager yeast and Saaz, but I can see the Irish part as well in some caramel malt aroma - does it work? I’m not convinced, I thought it was a bit of a mess. The flavour is very malt forward, with bread and caramel. Medium sweet with a little hop bitterness and some fruitiness. The finish has an unpleasant bitterness that I can’t quite place - hops, old yeast, or husk tannins?

Served at the right drinking temperature at EBF, Copenhagen 08. Russet body colour, tiny beige head. Sweet smell of malty nuttiness. Toffee in flavour with roastiness and welcoming hints of tart fruits. Smooth, vinous in the mouth. Pleasant, but in small amounts at the time (14.09.2008).

Amber body with a slight haze. Great laceworks on the glass. Oak bourbon to the nose. Rich flavour of figs and prunes mixed with cheese, and finishing with a hoppy edge. Woody and dry in the mouth, but quite easy drinking for the style and alcohol strength. Well-crafted brew and a pleasure to drink (draught at EBF, Copenhagen 14.09.2008).

Mahogany body colour. Beige tophead. Sweet, vinous vapour. Sweet dark fruits in flavour supported by oaky vanilla. Enough of spicy tartness to prevent it from being too sweet. Hidden alcohol. Well crafted brew (Sampled from a wooden barrel at EBF, 13.09.2008).

Unclear, mahogany body under an off-white head. Moderate malt roastiness to the nose. Dried, dark fruits giving way to notes of coffee and caramel malts. Medium to full bodied. A very well made Bock (EBF, 13.09.2008).

Almost completely black in its naked body appearance. Dark malty smell with smoky highlights. Gentle, velvet-like taste of well balanced liquorice, coffee and chocolate malts, and then ending up with a long-lived, bittersweet finish. Flat and dusty in the mouth. Full bodied. Just great (draught at EBF, 13.09.2008).

Sample from a barrel at EBF 08 – 11.9% ABV. Pitch black body. No head. Smell of vanilla sweetness and anise. Well blended taste of cocoa and chocolate malts, partly counterbalanced by bitter coffee beans. Velvet in the mouth. Strong and full bodied. Great stuff (12.09.2008).

Bottle, 75cl corked, thx to fonefan. Pours a dark amber, unclear body with a nice beige head. Coffee, roasted malt, some chocolate and a little burnt note in the aroma. The flavor is very much the same, but also has some nice dried fruits and a coffee-like bitterness. Still it feels one-dimentional, strange. Full-bodied, dryish and with a nice level of carbonation. Bottle, 33cl. Slowly working its way out of the bottle on its own, leaving a dark, dark brown body and a creamy, two-finger beige head. Berries, cellar, roasted malts, dark chocolate and a touch of licorice in the aroma. The flavor is on the sweet side, with fruityness, berries, chocolate and some faint coffee notes. Creamy and smooth on the palate, finishing both sweet and roasted. Definitely not a US style porter, more like a British one with a Belgian touch, but sure nice. 111209

(Bottle 75 cl) Pours a hazy deep golden with a basically absent head. Intense aroma of fruit and malt with a whiff of yeast. Very full-bodied - almost syrupy - with plenty of fruit. No bitterness but an almost peppery burning alcohol on my lips. This is almost a fruit liqueur. Lovely! 140908
