33cl Bottle bought at the brewery. Hazy golden/orange beer, white head. Aroma of hops, resin/glue and malts. Flavour is thin and bitter at first, but becomes more malty and hoppy with some resin underneath later on. Lemony bitter finish. Nice summer beer.

Hazy tan colour. Herbal, floral hops with lots of spicy, dusty yeast notes. Dry, bitter, a little footy in the yeast character.

Angry fist of Santa tasting at Chris o’s. Gold, slight haze. Thin off white head. Nice hop aroma. It’s a kick in the head with cat’s pee. From Harry. Really cool hop on the end. That gets better as it goes. 4/5 Re-rate at Churchill Tavern, Ramsgate. One of the best cask conditioned beers I ’ve had. The hops jumped out at you.

Cask (gravity) @ Great British Beer Festival, GBBF 2008, Earls Court, London, England SW5.This to celebrate my rating #4900 on ratebeer. Clear dark black color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly dimimshing, beige head. Aroma is heavy malty, roasted, caramel, chocolate, cream chocolate, licorice, vanilla, alcohol. Flavor is heavy sweet and bitter with a long long duration. Body is full, texture is oily - creamy - syrupy and so smooth, carbonation is flat. This is a beer that Mrs. fonefan loves and me also. It is so powerfull and complex - balanced - impressive.. Very very nice .. It is not for lager boys.... ;o)) It was my first and last beer the first 2 days on GBBF, Mrs fonefan did not drink much else the second day ... ;o)) Lovely work Menno, you are one of the best ! Dark red-brown color, big creamy head. Light aroma, the carbonation gets in the nose too; caramel, dry mushrooms. The body is not very strong, doesn’t show its power, just some signs from the warming alcohol; it has a strong caramel flavor, medium to dark, some chocolate, rather dry mouthfeel, traces of liquorice; correct bitterness. The mouthfeel is quite weak in the final too, where the alcohol presence shows up more; not enough malty, too dry to be really enjoyable.
Getting warmer, it loses everything on the way, no depth whatsoever, just a sweet harmless juice. Nothing special.

Tap @ de Molen. Cloudy brown color, medium off-white head. Aroma of hop, caramel malt, some toffee, slight spicy. Very pleasant bitterness in taste with a caramel malty body.

Bottled. Hazy orange brownish color, medium head. Soft aroma of some fruit, bit caramel, some hop. Strong alcoholic taste, quite sweet, slight fruity, some yeast. Warming. Very soft bitter finish. Decent.

Bottle @ the bockbierborrel of my faculty. Label says Borefts Turf Bock 2008, ABV 7.7%, so I’m not sure if this is the same beer. Deep dark reddish brown beer, creamy beige head. Aroma of peat, roasted malts. Flavour is peaty, sweet, roasted malts, caramel. Flavour underneath is rather sour. Fullbodied. Didn’t like the sourness. Not an average bock though.
