Super hazy golden coloured body with a three centimetre tall pure white head that fades faster than soda, but leaves a ridiculous amount of yeast funk in the bottom of the glass - a lot of sediment here. Aroma of sour brett, lactic acid, grass, hay, grain, herbs, dry oak, light hops and more brett flavours - this aroma is super complex. Light-bodied; Very grassy and super herbal flavours coming through at first with a big effervescence, a large floral complexity with some dry notes make for a nice flavour, even if it is a touch on the light side. Aftertaste shows the grass, herbs, brett, carbonation, dryness and floral elements with some perfume kicks towards the end, all with a very easy-to-drink profile and a smooth and drying finish. Overall, a nice saison with some wild yeast elements, a great complexity and leaning toward the lighter and super easy-to-drink, given the ABV/body, but still showing an abnormal (in a good way) complexity for the ABV and the style in general. I sampled this 37,5 cL ’split’ bottle purchased from SuperMarket Liqours in Fort Collins, Colorado on 17-March-2016 for US$3,99 sampled at home in Washington on 10-June-2016.

A lightly hazed golden ale with a thin white head. In aroma, superb mix of ground cherries and Epsom salts, light horse blanket, lactic acid, very nice. In mouth, a nice tart sweet fruity malt with light lactic notes, Epsom salts, light Gueuze like touches, light buttery notes, grapeskin, pleasant and refreshing. Bottle from Bottle Cap Beverage Center, Watertown, NY.

Smoke and Beer, Brooklyn bottle: pours mostly clear yellow with a white head. Aroma is farmhousey funk to an extent, some hops in the nose. Taste is lightly bitter and kind of funky. Kind of a standard saison, but well balanced. Clean but interesting.

Draught @ Belmont Station, Portland, OR. Pours pitch black with a smooth head. Aroma of chocolate, slightly roasty malts, coffee, vanilla and cocoa. Taste is super smooth with some coffee, cocoa, mudcake, hints of roastiness and loads of chocolate. Finish is smooth and sweetish with loads of chocolate, cocoa, hints of vanilla and fudge. Quite smooth and balanced.

On tap at BruFrou fest, it is a nice bright semi opaque gold with a spicy funk saison aroma with some wheat notes. Very active carbonation it delivers a hit of tart limes then aggressive brett notes on a raspily carbonated body. Not my thing but nice.

12.7 oz wax-dipped bottle. Aroma is footy, lemony, grapes gone to vinegar, horse blanket--pretty pungent. Pours clear golden with a medium bone-white head that falls fairly quick into a ring. Taste is tart (5/10 on a sour scale), light acid, dry. Thin and watery. Good stuff, I just wish there was a bit more body.
