Description
We are The Curious Brewery. Where flavour and passion comes first. We believe in trying to create things that others can’t.

Our reason for being is to inspire people to stay curious. To question. To celebrate. To smile more. And to never graduate from the school of life. We decided to make the best-tasting beer and cider, using just the best quality ingredients brewed at our state of the art Brewery in Ashford, Kent, United Kingdom.

Curious bought Wild Beer Co out of administration in a deal that involved the beer brands and intellectual property of Wild Beer Co, but not its Somerset-based brewery production facilities. The Curious and Wild Beer Co businesses were transfered into the hands of St Peter’s in 2023.

33cl Bottle brought from London, thanks Manon! Deep dark brown to black colour, off-white head. Aroma of hard roasted malts, coffee, bitter chocolate, berries and vanilla. Flavour is medium-sweet, oak, chocolate, coffee, light berry tartness, roasted bitter finish. Light-bodied. Nice porter.

Bottle at home in London. Pours clear, bright gold with a creamy, white froth. Some funky citrus fruits in the nose, pale biscuity malts. Light sweet flavor, some mis-placed funkiness, mango, lemon, light grass. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Funky tang to finish, some juicy citrus fruits. Odd. Not sure if this is totally intentional. As it is, not awesome. (2.9)Bottle at a ChrisO tasting - London. Pours clear, light yellow with a fine, white film for a head. Grain, corn and hay comprise the aroma. Light to medium sweet flavor with sugar, dough and faint grassy bitterness. Light bodied with fine to average carbonation. Light sweetness to finish with mild doughy bread and hay. A weak effort here. (2.9)

33 cl bottle @ home, BBE 03/2014
Aroma is slightly stale with grassy hops, grainy malt, some fruits, hints of hay, gooseberry bush and nettles. Flavour has butter, fruits, nettles, grass, some sweetish grainy malt and hints of honey. Somewhat sticky finish. Quite funky and fruity for a premium lager, due to the champagne yeast I suppose. Good.

A clear, light yelow beer with a medium, but lasting, blond head. Aroma is nice slightly aromatic, malts, grass, some fruits and citrus. Taste of almost only malts and grass, only hint of aromatic fruits, bitterness is mild. Almost medium bodied, balanced to drink. The aroma promise quite interesting and aromatic beer, but then the taste is quite modest, a positive thing is that there aren’t any faults.

On tap at Jamie’s Italian, Islington, London on 12th January 2013. Amber-gold with lasting white head and lacing. Richly sweet and fruity aroma. Plenty of floral hops in-mouth with some grass and sweet citrus late. Finish remains fruity, but gains maltiness. Zingy mouthfeel.

330ml Bottle - Very dark brown, almost black in colour. Coffee, roasted malt, dried fruit and plain chocolate in the aroma. Roasted, chocolatey and malty taste with notes of coffee, liquorice and roasted malt standing out. Not bad at all.

Bottle at home in London. Pours clear gold with a moderate, off-white head. Aroma holds some dry orange and grass, light leaves, very lightly toasted malts. Light to medium sweet flavor with mild bitterness of dry citrus, sun-kissed grass and leaves, a few berries, subtle dry caramel. Light bodied with average carbonation. Faintly dry and sticky finish with some lightly toasted malts, very mellow fruit sugars, faint grass and pine. It’s a pretty relaxed IPA overall, but it isn’t bad. Decent use of British hops in here.
