Description
In 1981, Peter Mauldon, the great grandson of Anna Maria decided to re-establish the family tradition and start a brewery in Sudbury once again. Peter had been too young to be involved in the original family business and had previously pursued a career with Messrs. Watney where he progressed to Head Brewer at the company’s large Mortlake Brewery.

Half-pint, cask ale at Stanford Arms in Lowestoft. Patchy beige head, fair lacing, a deep dark reddish shade to a black body. Blackberry nose, mid-sweet, promising. Rather rich taste of blackberries and grainy chocolate. Mid-sweet malt-berry tail. Likable. (06.07.2019).

Cask @ White Hart, Todmorden. Clear blonde with a head. It's a crisp enough dryish pale ale with good clean water. It's hoppy with a slightly dirty nose.

Cask pint at The Beehive (JDW), Gatwick Airport. ABV 4.2%. Pale golden colour, white head. Citric aroma. Nice citric flavour, decent bitterness.

From old notes. Vacation in England 2000. Cask @ The Alexandra, Norwich. Nice blonde ale, firm, bitterish and fruity. Good.

Dark brown color. Rich mouth of stewed apples, milk chocolate, caramel and slight sourness. Light bodied. OK.

Cask at yhr Bankers Draft, Eltham. Black pour with a beige head. Nose of blackberries, lots of dark fruit, raisin. Similar action in the flavour. Quite satisfying.
