Bottle, Ale Cellar, Darlington. Poured a darkish hazy orange/gold. Nice lingering, thick, off white head. Great lacing. Fragrant aroma of dried fruit, berries and hops. Soft, creamy mouthfeel. Flavour packed with yeast, hops and spices. Hoppy, bitter finish with fruity notes that lingers perfectly and leaves you wanting more and more. Fabulous stuff. A real treat.

Cask at The Kelham Island Tavern, Sheffield, ’The Peoples Republic of South Yorkshire’ on the Valley of Beer Day 16-08-08 Pours warm golden, small white head. This reminds me of a good slightly old fashioned bitter in many respects with some soapy hops, its absolutely fine.

(Cask at Kitty’s Public House, Helsinki, on 2008-08-15) Pale amber. A bit hazy. Quite long-lasting bubbly white medium-sized head. A bit yeasty , hoppyand fruity nose. Full-bodied palate, soft and dryish. Frutiness, bitterness, salty liquorice, sweetness and yeast in taste. Long aftertaste with slight bitterness.

Cask. Deep brownish amber colour with small head. Aroma is quite fruity/nectary with some hints of smoked wood and caramel. Flavour is dark dry fruits with some mild wooden notes. Ends in a bitter woodenness.

Cask at the Trip to Jerusalem, Nottingham. I have to disagree with the previous rating - this was an excellent stout. Black with a thin dense creame head and a tawny brown clour when held to the light; sweet and creamy to start with licorice and chocolate flavours, then compeltely changing character with a intensely dry finish with lots of coffee grounds and gravel; the aroma reminds me of warm engine oil. Excellent.

Cask at the Babington Arms, Derby. Gold with a creamy white head; lime and citrus aroma; more citrus flavour with a bitter grapefruit bite and dry finish with orange and lime. Very pleasant on a summers evening.

Cask at the Turf Tavern, Oxford 10-07-08 in the company of Casey and Traci Some sulphour on the nose, a nice tangy fruitiness in the mouth, nice lemonyness, dries towards end. This has less bitterness than the Burton Bridge Moss Boss also had at the Turf tonight. Its quite tasty and pleasant.

Cask at The Turf Tavern, Oxford in the company of Casey and Traci 10-07-08 Light amber, good sweet lemony bite with a nice flourish of honey. The bitterness lingers but it is very nice for this. Doesn’t have the usual Burton nose, or if it does it really isn’t that strong here, its a nice beer. This beer may have been warm gold but in the poor light at the Turf it looked more amber. Appeared to be named after Stirling Moss.

Cask, Gravity, Haddenham Beer Festival, Haddenham, Bucks, 05-07-08 Poured light golden very clear and looking good. Some citrus notes in the aroma along with some hops. Taste was fine but rather too sweet I thought and this sweetness rather drowned out the other flavours which I’m sure were there in abundance, there was certainly some citrus and the hops were present but as mentioned just too sweet unfortunately.
