Gose flavoured with guava and habanero peppers by this well-established and technically skilled Brussels 'nouvelle vague' microbrewery, thanks to tderoeck for sharing the can! Thin and open, egg-white ring of foam, dissolving completely over a misty yolk-yellow robe with beige tinge. Aroma of Sauerkraut (very much Gose indeed), wakame, freshly cut green bell pepper which I assume represents the habaneros, fresh green guava, dill, freshly cooked crayfish or even fresh seafood, green melon, green apple. Tart, crisp, focused onset, a lime-like, non-sharp but effective lactic sourness engulfing aspects of fresh cucumber and even watermelon - but in reality the added guava of course, flanked by a pinch of seafood-like saltiness; both aspects, one crisp and green-fruity yet sweet, the other Sauerkraut-like, match wonderfully (and frankly unexpectedly) well with one another, especially when, passing over a slick, soapy 'wheatiness', they are heated by the habanero, not in an agressively burning way, but in a softly warming, spicy way. A creamy, yoghurty lactic sourness lingers and keeps all these different flavour aspects together. A much better combo of flavours than I was expecting and another testimony of Source's skills in creating innovative, perfectly executed, often non-traditional but tasteful and classy craft beers.

Veel vat in het aroma. Droog ziltige aanzet, beetje zurig, wat vatkarakter, rokerige tabak, nectarine, witte druif, vineus, scherpe afdronk

(Draft at Moeder Lambic Fontainas, Brussels, 20 Sep 2025) Hazy golden colour with brief, white head. Fruity nose with notes of honey, herbs and a touch of grain. Fruity taste with honey, honeycomb, bees wax, flowers and grainy flavours. Medium body, quite sweet. Well balanced and refreshing. Nice one.
