Brewvival 2015 Trip #66. Keg at Edmund’s Oast. Pours a hazy yellow with a large fizzy off-white head. Good head retention. Aroma of spice, yeast, floral and herbal notes, dry stone fruit. The taste is tropical fruits, candied citrus, stone fruit, bread, yeast, spice. Medium bodied, bright, lingering spice.

8% bottle thanks to Nathan. Pours a hazy copper orange with medium frothy white head that lasts. The aroma is funk and brown sugar. Medium mouth with strong sugar malt, funk, light dryness. 10% bottle thanks to Nathan. Pours a cloudy orange with large frothy beige head that lasts. The aroma is earthy hop and yeast. Medium mouth with nice fruit, yeast, light dryness. Very good.

Bottle. Pours reddish amber white head. Nose/taste of cocoa, blackberry, funky yeast, toasted nuts and touch of bandaid/plastic. Medium body.

On tap at CCB. Pours a cloudy orange with white frothy head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is yeast, clove, spice. Similar flavors to nose, little bland and dry finish.

On tap at Engine 15 during RBWG. Pours a cloudy yellow with medium frothy white head. The aroma is yeast and vinegar. Thin mouth with strong vinegar and wheat.

Pours unclear yellow no real head. Smell is sour, acid, very chemical even. Taste is sour. Acid, vinegar, dry, rotten fruits. Not good indeed and far from balanced

Bottle. Opaque yellow color, flat. Nice fruity aroma. Taste is extremely tart citrus, like a sour lemon drop gone rogue, then dipped in a berliner weisse on steroids. Interesting but challenging.

750 c&c from Wine & Cheese. Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is a bit winey/woody. A dry astringent grape aroma. Med + body. Flavor is winey/grapey with something suggesting a soap, some wood, definitely some earth. There’s some dark maltiness, and some tartness. To me this is something out of a red wine barrel, tho apparently it has never seen wood. Finishing dry, earthy/woody, red berry fruity, and something herbal? The back of the bottle exclaims mysterious. Got that right. I’m really liking the contrasting, mixed flavors.
