Popped the cap and it quickly foamed up and out of the bottle requiring quick reflexes to keep from spilling any. Waisting even a drop of this stuff should be a crime. Poured huge head of tan foam. Murky amber color. Pretty big aroma of brown sugar, caramel malts, a little spice and yeast. Smells like it will be a tasty brew. Delicious smooth flavor. All the flavors blend until about midway making them tough to distinguish. Just beyond midway a cherry, plum and date fruitiness rose above the flavor din only to be followed by some coriander, cinnamon and other spices. The fruitiness remains to the finish where it left a nice mild flavor until the next sip. Other than the slight warmth I felt there was no other sign of the ABV. Excellent beer.

Bottled, 0.33cl. It pours unclear, golden-brown, with floaties and a huge, lasting beige head. Quite a lot comes out of the bottle on its own. Complex aroma with tea, sugar, dried fruits, hints of roasted malt and alcohol. The flavor is sweet and maltym with dried fruits, spices and hints of alcohol. Full-bodied, and a finish with alcohol, sweetness and spices. Nice beer, but not a rave. Would like to sample it again though. (061027)

Bottle from 2001: Unclear amber with fine white head. Sweet aroma of malts, nuts & caramel. Some dark fruits. Warmth from alcohol - but very pleasant. Sweetness with a spicy touch (cloves). Filling body. Smooth mouthfeel. Long finish. Fantastic!

Unclear golden with fine white lasting head. Aroma of fruits & spices. Lively carbonation. Taste of hops/citrus & spices. Filling body. Easy warmth from alcohol. Fine lacings on the sides of the glass. Lasting pleasant hoppy/spicy finish! Another Great abbaye des rocks. Really good blonde.

RBESG, bottle. Hazy amber colour. Lovely vinous aroma with notes of barnyard. Funky and moderately oaky flavour. A very good beer.

11.2 oz bottle. Golden color with lots of chunks of sediment. Bright white head. Aroma has a sharp acidic component along with sweet malt and wheat. Flavor starts off with a lemon acidity then quickly turns sweet with malt and wheat. Very nice smooth flavor. The wife loves it too. I also get some light spice flavors and yeast. Very tasty and refreshing brew.

Clear amber color with tall creamy tan head that stayed to the end. Several large chunks of sediment floating around. Strong aroma of brown sugar, apples, a light smelling spice like cinnamon and yeast. Very smooth flavor. Incredibly drinkable for 9.5% ABV. Tastes much like its aroma. I taste brown sugar, some plums, apples, dates, and several layers of subtle spice. The finish is dry and neutral. Not too much sweetness nor tart or bitterness. No sense of the ABV at all.
