Description
Pictish Brewing Company is a small independent brewery established in April 2000 by Richard Sutton. Early in 2013 Richard decided to opt for an easier life and skive off leaving things in the hands of his old friend Paul Wesley. We brew a wide variety of high quality cask conditioned ales and deliver direct to the licensed trade in the Lancashire, Manchester and West Yorkshire areas.

Cask gravity at Reading BF 08. Pale gold with thin white head. Pale hoppy beer, fairly distinctive hop. Very acidic aroma. Very ascetic, but pretty good and very balanced. Actually as it went down I thought it was excellent.

Cask-conditioned at the Bag O’Nails, Bristol, 20/4/08. Golden coloured with next to no head. Grapefruit and grass hop aromas. Slightly sweet malt flavours before the citrus hops kicked in, culminating in along, dry finish. Another well-balanced Pictish beer.

Half pint. Gravicask. Straw-yellow body under a thin, white head. Weak floral nose. Spicy fruits in flavour ending on a rounded malty backbone. Quit well bodied, but straightforwardly (evening session at London Drinker BF, 13.03.2008).

Cask handpull at London Drinker BF 08. Pale gold, lasting bubbly white head. For me, it has diacetyl on the aroma. OK, after that. Decent citrusy hoppy golden beer, but the diacetyl spoils it for me.

Cask gravity at St Albans BF 2007. Gold with lasting bubbly off white head. Good sherberty hop aroma, a little soapy, nice golden blond beer. Decent hop on end. Moderate fullness/sweetness due to alcohol. This is a decent blond with some tea and leafy hop. Smooth in mouth and good grapefruit.

Cask gravity at St Albans BF 2007. Pale gold with lasting white head. Great Centennial hop aroma. Hey, this is my type of beer, a little soapy perhaps towards the end. Hop is good, decent floralness. Good example of this blond style, but no Hophead or JHB.
