Description

Unsere Brauerei wurde im Jahr 1556 gegründet – 40 Jahre nach dem Erlass des bayerischen Reinheitsgebotes. Das ist lange her – tiefes Mittelalter, kurz vor der Reformation. Das Bier wurde damals als „flüssiges Brot des armen Mannes“ ausgeschenkt, weil der Wein zu teuer war. Im Laufe der Jahrhunderte wechselte die Brauerei vielfach den Besitzer oder Betreiber. Ihren lange geführten Namen erhielt sie schließlich von Joseph Sedlmayr: Seine Initialen sind noch heute Teil des Wappens der Brauerei Maisach, die über 100 Jahre von der Familie Sedlmayr geführt worden war. Seit Januar 2016 betreibt Michael Schweinberger die Brauerei und führt damit die Tradition der Privatbrauerei weiter: Im Team werden hochwertige, handgemachte Biere gebraut – ganz im Sinne des klassischen Brauhandwerks.

Due to insolvency bought by Brauerei Kühbach in 2024.

Bottle 330ml.[ Trade by Boris ]. Clear medium yellow colour with a small to average, frothy, good - fair lacing, mostly lasting, white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, grain, hay, pale malt. Flavour is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, grass - straw - flowers. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20130104]

Bottle @ fonefan berliner weisse, cream ale multistate tasting. Nice head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are sweet malt, grass and hops.

Bottle @ FOneFan, 5.3%. Golden with small white head. Aroma is malt, hay and grass. Flavour is malt, hay, grass, little sweet and a little bitter.

Bottle @ Late Night Fonefan/Brugmansia Tasting, January 2013. Pours hazy yellow with a small bubbly off white head. Grass and grain. Mild sulphur. Dry and short bitter finish. A bit thin.

Bottle 33 cl. Courtesy of fonefan. Pours yellow with a slight haze and a small white head. Decent flowery hops in the nose. Medium body, a dry but distinct maltiness and a solid hop bite. 040112

Bottle 500ml. @ home on the terrace.[ Trade by Boris ]. Hazy medium yellow colour with a large, creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is light malty, wheat, moderate to light light heavy yeasty, banana, dark fruit, pineapple. Flavour is moderate sweet, light light acidic and light bitter with a long duration, yeasty, tropical fruit, pineapple notes. Body is medium, texture is creamy, carbonation is soft. [20121118]

Light malty smell, a little bit chocolate is also present. Normal sized white creamy head, long lasting, black body.
