Description
Unsere Brauerei wurde im Jahr 1556 gegründet – 40 Jahre nach dem Erlass des bayerischen Reinheitsgebotes. Das ist lange her – tiefes Mittelalter, kurz vor der Reformation. Das Bier wurde damals als „flüssiges Brot des armen Mannes“ ausgeschenkt, weil der Wein zu teuer war. Im Laufe der Jahrhunderte wechselte die Brauerei vielfach den Besitzer oder Betreiber. Ihren lange geführten Namen erhielt sie schließlich von Joseph Sedlmayr: Seine Initialen sind noch heute Teil des Wappens der Brauerei Maisach, die über 100 Jahre von der Familie Sedlmayr geführt worden war. Seit Januar 2016 betreibt Michael Schweinberger die Brauerei und führt damit die Tradition der Privatbrauerei weiter: Im Team werden hochwertige, handgemachte Biere gebraut – ganz im Sinne des klassischen Brauhandwerks.

Due to insolvency bought by Brauerei Kühbach in 2024.

Pours a cloudy golden color. Aroma combines earthy wheat, slightly sweet straw and a bit of banana.

Draught at the brewery. Hazy, deep gold colored. AROMA- wheat, vanilla, honey, yeasty, touch of banana. FLAVOR- slightly sweet, wheat, yeast, spicy. Medium bodied.
Average weissbier.

Draught at the brewery. Clear, deep brown colored. AROMA- low and insipid, some toasted tones. FLAVOR- neutral, lightly toasted, insipid. Light to medium bodied.

Draught at the brewery. Lightly cloudy, pale gold colored. AROMA- yeasty, malty, vinous, apples. FLAVOR- neutral, malty, vinous and apple tones. Medium bodied.

Draught at the brewery. Clear, straw colored. AROMA- pleasant and surprising, close to white wine, malt. FLAVOR- slightly sweet and bitter, malty with vinous tones. Medium bodied.

Clear dark brown with little brown head. Aroma is nuts, roast, caramel, very intense. Taste is malty bitter and sweet. More nuts. Full body, creamy smooth mouthfeel, long finish of more roast. Very good.

500ml bottle. Clear, reddsih mahogany colour with average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, off-white to beige head. Roasty dark malty aroma, a nuttily touch. Taste is dry, roasty dark malty with a nuttily touch, hints of roasted nuts, a cautious touch of chocolate. Nice.

500ml bottle. Clear, yellow-ish golden colour with small to average, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Grainy and slightly strawy notes add up with some malt sweetness to an almost fruity aroma. Taste is grainy, minimally strawy, bitter hoppy overtones with a citrus touch.

330ml bottle. Clear, pale golden colour with average to huge, thick, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Grainy, strawy aroma, a touch of wet straw and hutch. Taste is minimally sweet pale malty, mildly floral and grassy hoppy overtones. Typical Southern German Pilsener with more malt sweetness than hop bitterness.
