Bottled vintage 2004, alc. 6.0% (BB 09/2005)
Red-copper-brown color, small white head. Aroma is fruity (water melon, apple and mango) with hint of hops. Medium-bodied, oily, apple juice -like palate, a bit flat. Sugar, mint fruits and herbal hops in flavor. Typical but mild English bitter aftertaste.
Re-rated, Vintage 2005, alc. 6.0%
Dark amber color, not much head. Oaky, metallic, hoppy nose, sweet nutty. Light, woody hoppy toffeish flavor. Not very Christmasy and just an ordinary English bitter. (6/3/5/2/10 2.6)

Amber color. Honestly, a simple Bitter, with some caramel taste, pretty high bitterness at the end, light metallic, not enough aromatic.

Bottle: Poured a nut brown colored ale with a nice off-white foamy head with average retention. Aroma is comprised of lightly roasted malt and bitter hops. Taste is better then your average bitter with some lightly sweet malt mix with biter hops leaving a clean dry taste at the end. Overall, an above the pack English bitter.

Cask. Very nutty flavour. Apart from that, it is like many other bitters....

This ale pours a dark orange with a nice frothy off-white head. Hoppy on the nose, this one I fear has been sitting at the LCBO too long and with the clear bottle that doesn’t help much. Slight mettalic scent too. First sip was a good one with nice amount of bitterness and a smooth aftertaste. Flavours of malt and caramel are in the front. While the finish is bitter with lasting flavour of more malt. The palate...a nice bitterish end.

Bottled (BB 08/2005)
Deep red-brown color and small but steady off-white head. Typical English hoppy aroma with hints of toffee. Hoppy bitter, midly spicey but same time sharp watery mouthfeel. Leaves sweet oily and slightly bitter aftertaste. Quite typical Shepherd Neame product.

(Can) = Fairly strong cherry/berry aroma. Amber color as you can see. Sweet malt and hops flavor - slight bitterness and berry aroma is much subtler with the taste.
