Description
«Atrium» is a Latin word meaning « entrance hall », a place from which we have access to other environments. The Atrium Brewery emanates from a passion for beer, from a strong will to attract other people towards a universe rich of stories, savors and flavors : this is what we are commissioned to do! Therefore we brew unconventional beers making use of high quality products only, carefully selected to lead to a unique sensory experience.

A black beer, no head. Aroma has liquorice, richness of maltyness, hint of barrel. Taste has liquorice, salt liquorice, light bourbon. Full bodied, not stickyness. A pretty simple, but nicely done and tasteful.

(Draught at Moeder Lambic Fontainas, Brussels, 18 Oct 2023) Pale amber colour with creamy, off-white head. Malty, hoppy nose with notes of crisp-bread, orange peel and pine needles. Malty, hoppy taste with caramel, treacle-toffee, orange peel, grapefruit, pine needles and a balanced citric bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty and well balanced. Nice one.

Medium, dense & fine white head over very carbonated, veiled yellow beer. Herbal nose, oregano, bit soapy. Very light sourishness, celeriac or (sourish) celeri, citrus, garden herbs. Finish has a bit of chees, as a hard cheese with spices/grains. Medium bodied, slick, very well carbonated to effervescent. Again a pretty strong effort from Atrium, one of Wallonia's best new breweries IMO. Remarkable is that despite the addition of coriander, it gets nowhere soupy.

Bouteille 33cl, BB 10/2025, lot# B035/2020.

White - cream ring over deep ruby-amber beer. Alcoholic, fusels, curaçoapeel (very obvious), liqueurish, almost vinous. Ethanol, fusels, nuts, again orangepeel, esters' galore. Alcoholslick, alcoholheat, medium to well-carbonated, oily feel. Not bad, maybe a tad forced. Txs to Stef!
