2007 341ml bottle from Harry! Prettiest head of any beer i have consumed! Nose of chocolate, coffee, and light sweetness; Opaque black with a medium height, very dark cinnamon brown head that lightly laces; Flavor is chocolate with some light hop bitterness in a medium thick body; finish is chcolate and light hops.

341 ml bottle from Harry!!! Nose is caramelly, piney, and bready; clear dark red with a small beige head; flavor is hop bitterness, caramel, and earthiness; finish is bitter with a fishy note deep in the backgound the whole time as if I had been eating fresh caught and fried trout (which I haven’t had since last summer)

Small yellowish 2mm; beautiful light chestnut coloured beer. Caramel & greenery, slightly oxydized malts, ovomaltine, some aroma of shellfish. Bitter overlying taste over flavours of very stale cookies (if there’s any BBd, I cannot spy it). Bitterness is crude, unrefined, like scorched chicory. Medium bodied, bit sticky, little bit of alcohol. Very crude, fighting flavours. Sorry, Monsieur Huard this one, I cannot dig.

Almost no head, greige rim; near-black beer. Inviting smokey-phenolic nose. Smoked bacon/sausages, but also campfire woodsmoke, ironoxide. Dry-woody taste, with lots of tobacco-ashes, point of chocolate. Only faintest of smoked meat esters here, no fattiness, just dry & phenolic. Warming up, it gets more and more Islay malt-like, which doesn’t spoil a thing! Very rounded, soft-velvety MF, just a touch chewy. Is it the conditioning? The bottle? Or the other beers tasted at LCRBM07? Anyway, this seems to come out better than the Unfiltered version! Grand merci encore à mon pote Sylvain!

Bouteille 341ml. De couleur noire et opaque. Nez de malt rôti et assez fumée (bois et bacon), de chocolat noir et avec des notes fruitées (cerises noires), de café et de houblon herbeux ainsi que des traces de crème sucrée. Moyenne-ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen-bas et une texture crémeuse et aux petites notes huileuses. Léger goût fruité (cerises noires, traces de mûres, de raisins et de prunes) accompagné d’un goût fumé (bois, notes de bacon), de notes de tabac ainsi que des traces de crème et de réglisse noire lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute un goût moyennement amer de malt rôti (légèrement brûlé et aux notes terreuses) avec un moyen goût de chocolat noir (notes de chocolat sucré) puis progressivement vient se rajoute un moyen goût de café noir jusqu’en finale, où l’on retrouve également un léger goût de houblon herbeux asséchant ainsi que des notes d’alcool doux. Post-goût long et sec, moyennement amer de rôti/ brûlé avec un moyen goût de café, de chocolat noir, de houblon herbeux, de fumée ainsi que des notes fruitées (moût de cerises noires et de pelures de prunes) et d’alcool très doux.

Nez de malt rôti et assez fumé (bois et bacon), de chocolat noir (traces de chocolat au lait), légèrement fruité (notes de raisins, traces de mûres) et avec des notes de houblon herbeux et de café. Moyennement ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen-bas et et une texture riche, plutôt crémeuse et aux petites notes huileuses. Goût légèrement fruité (raisins, traces de mûres et de prunes sucrées) accompagné d’un goût fumé (bois et bacon, présent toute la gorgée) lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute un goût moyennement amer de malt rôti (légèrement brûlé et aux petites notes terreuses) et de chocolat noir puis en finale l’on retrouve un léger goût de café noir accompagné d’un léger goût de houblon herbeux asséchant. Post-goût assez long et sec, moyennement amer de rôti/ brûlé, de chocolat, de café, léger de houblon herbeux et avec des petites notes fruitées (moût de raisins) ainsi que de faibles traces métalliques.

A deep dak porter with a thin receeding moka head. A wonderful chocolate and peat aroma, with warming alcohol. In porter, a rich bitter chocolate with smokedness blending in perfectly, toasted and intense, some herbal notes. Rich and lingering. An excellent porter. Merci RH.

Pours a jet black body with a small creamy brown head. Aroma of sweet chocolate, caramel, molassas and roasted malt. Sweet coffee and chocolate flavor, light molassas hints and some roasted malt. Medium body with medium low carbonation.

Bottled. Dark color, medium dark brown head. Aroma of heavily roasted malt, bready, licorice, coffee, chocolat, rye. Malty taste, licorice and chocolat, some sour milkyness, bitter. Bitter malty palate. Very good aroma, taste is a bit less though. Still great stuff.
