Cask at Pigs Ear 2015 - London. Pours mostly clear brown with a bubbly, off-white head. Mild roast in the aroma, with hints of cocoa and ripe fruits. Light sweet flavor, with dried and lightly tangy berries, earth, wood. Light in body with fine carbonation; OK condition. Lightly sweet on the finish, with some tangy and leathery berries, plum hints of char. So so overall.

Cask at Pigs Ear 2015, day 1 - London. Pours rich brown with a creamy, off-white head. The nose is a mix of chocolate and - you guessed it! - strawberries. Medium sweet flavour with a foundation of brown bread, some berries, dirt. Light bodied with fine carbonation; OK condition. Earthy bitterness on the finish, dry cocoa, strawberry, some berry seeds. Not bad overall.

Cask gravity at Pig’s Ear 2015. It pours deep ruby-brown with a decent beige head. The nose is fresh, juicy, sweet, candied action and strawberry ice-cream. The taste is bitter-sweet, strawberry, raspberry pip, roasted malts, candy, earth and some toast. Medium body and fine carbonation. I know I really shouldn’t like this sort of thing, but I kind of did. I quite like the balance. Not overly sweet, so works just fine.

Cask @ Waterhouse, Manchester. Golden with a small creamy head. Hoppy, and dry tasting, with a grittiness to it.

Cask @ Dirty Dicks, Halifax. There’s more than a tinge of ginger in here, with a very stated nose, and although at first it feels less stated in its taste, there’s a strong lingering aftertaste of the spice.

Chelmsford Beer Festival. Cask. Clear amber beer, tidy white head. Palate is semi dry with modest fine carbonation. Good fruity ginger, not that hot that blows your head off! Little orange peel in there. Light finish. Easy going ginger beer.
