Description
A former cuckoo brewery, Stockport Brewing installed its own eight-barrel plant initially under the iconic Stockport Viaduct in 2014. It then moved to a larger, modern facility in the Bredbury Industrial Estate north of Stockport. The beers are widely available throughout the UK through a trading agreement with other breweries.

Cask @ Fox & Goose, Hebden Bridge. Bright copper with a thin head. Has a fairly robust malty-fruit flavour with a light bitterness and some grain in its taste.

On tap at the Three Horseshoes, Waddington. Pale golden colour with a thin white head. Aroma is slight citrus hops. Taste is slightly metallic with a slight bitterness. Ok beer, but not exceptional.

Cask at the Wellington, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark brown with a thin broken white head. The aroma is woody, light roasted malt. The flavour is moderate bitter with a smooth, light coffee, nutty, resin hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Light bodied with soft carbonation.

Cask at the Snug, Carnforth. Golden/copper, fairly clear with a big, slightly loose white head. Light apricot/maple/honey aroma. Bitter and slightly astringent on the tongue. Stays bitter all the way to the mouth puckering finish. A strong ale that drinks like a bitter. Dangerous.

Cask at the Tap House, Lancaster, 01/03/15. Clear light golden with a moderate off white covering. Nose is thin, pale malt, straw, light citric peel. Taste comprises lemon notes, more pale malt, citric rind, grassy notes. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation, semi drying close. Bland Golden Blonde - yawn!

Half pint, hand-pulled cask at Crown Inn, Stockport. Pours a creamy fawn-coloured head to a red-brown coloured body. Solid lacework. Grainy chocolate on the nose. Mixed taste of brown and black malts, including dark chocolate, earth, and caramel. Nicely, mild roasted finish. Medium bodied. Likable (03.02.2015).

Half pint, hand-pulled cask at Crown Inn, Stockport. A close to clear yellow-gold body. Dotted spots to the glassware. Moderate aroma of lemony hops. Taste of grassy hops with lemon to it. Bittersweet tail. Accepted (03.02.2015).

Cask, half pint, house beer at Crown Inn. Nitro, beige head blanketing the glass. Clear amber coloured body. Mid-sweet aroma of brown malts and herbal hops. Malt-fruity flavours with caramel and pine. Mid-dry bitter finish. True to the style (Stockport 03.02.2015).

Manchester Beer Festival 2015. The ale is a clear but very dark red with a fuller roasted aroma and taste, but also rich and sweet.
