Brewery draught, 4/24/25.
Clear, bright copper-amber. Small, but well-retained, butter head.
Spicy hop with fresh cut grass and a healthy malt character adding sourdough and cracker. Surprisingly low perceived sweetness. Clean. Floral hop character lingering.
Rich in flavor despite the not so malty nose. But drying out firmly on the finish alongside spicy hop and earthy mineral. Bread, honey, dusty, grassy, spicy hop. I like how interesting the hop is but it sort of distracts from the malt? Oh well, first world problems. Guess I'll let a can age for a bit.

Brewery draught, 4/24/25.
Heavily hazy bronze-maize-golden. Neat, creamy, off-white head.
Fruity nose with a healthy mix of apple, pear, light citrus and maybe a hint of tropical. Wheat/oat-like blandness/softness with light mineral. Clean, balanced.
Soft and fruity, low but ample bitterness. Chewy, wheat/oat body with low sweetness. Nothing explosive or even that distinctive from the hop but there's a good mix of yellow and citrus fruits. Good mineral. Easy drinking, balanced. Nice change of pace from the usual shit.

2022 vintage at Armsby Abbey, 1/1/24. Clear dark maroon. Light tan head sits at thin cover. Really nice English feel to it with big raisin-plum-prune from malt and yeast, backed by a fun helping of vinous port and gentle oak. No booze, doesn't feel too sugary. Soft, rich, fruity and malty with excellent barrel character adding dryness on the finish. There's a strong vanilla note from somewhere that is absolutely killer. Deft balance of sweet and dry, malty and attenuated. And that fruit and vanilla lingering is amazing. Great barrel character, good acidity. Not too heavy on the raisin-prune. Just a pinch of syrupiness up front before drying out nicely. Lovely spiciness in the final dh from the barrel.

Draught at Torst: pours pinkish with white head. Aroma is woody, vinegar, loads of plums. Taste is sort of sweet, quite acidic. Very fruity. Could have used less acid.

Shared bottle @ Patricks. Black body with a solid, lacing beige head. Aroma of roasted malt, dry fruit, wood, mild vinegar and funk. Flavor is quite sweet, dark roasted malt, hint of smoke, wood, dark fruit, mild acidity and warming alcohol. Some Bourbon notes bit not too dominating. Fine balanced body and long lasting aftertaste. A pleasant sipper.

Interesting layered beer. Up front has tartness, some green notes, peppery, the body is chewy dried apricot, end has a touch of sharpness

Bottle in VT. Tart and quenching, lemon squash, sturdy acidity, lemon, mellow oaky dryness. Somewhat sharp finish, a little white pepper. Sound.
