Small darker cream head over deep ruby-brown beer. Sweet nose, malts, dark malts, but also brown candi sugar. The beer indeed contains cassonade, and one can smell it a mile out. Dark (sugar) bread; melanoidins. Sweet, but with markedly bitterish-roasted overtones. Roast, melanoidins dominating with a light burning sensation, due to the invisible, if very present carbonation. Roasted nuts, leafy, liquorice, bitter plums, dark candi sugar. After a while, dark chocolate with some marzipan. Quite well-bodied, very viscous-slick, tittilating carbonation. Meeeuuhh. Could do better. Thanks to Stef!

Dry/bitter/herbal/semi-sugary, not a regular tripel

Large foamy white head left a rocky cover on a slowly carbonating light amber coloured body. Yeast, spice & fruity aroma. Medium bodied, nicely carbonated with a dry back. Cardamom, yeast, fruity & chalk tastes with a bitter herbal finish. Unusual

Aroma 6. Appearance 3. Taste 5. Palate 2. Overall 10. Mid-roasted malt and caramel aroma. Grassy and even a bit metalic taste, some dried fruits (plum?), grilled biscuit. Quite dried aftertaste, mid-sweet with a hint of alcohol.

Brewed in Canada by Brasseurs du Monde. Pours a slight hazy golden colour with a frothy white cap, decent retention and some creamy-foamy lacing wavy lacing. Malty and fruity nose with some orange and apple notes. There is definitely a Belgium touch to this. Hoppy nose at first, but seems to balance itself. This hop is also in the taste giving some minty feel. Herbal, but bright. Again, apples in there. More like a lighter Tripel than a Witbier. Or just a regular good Belgian Ale. More apples over oranges. More hops over coriander.
