Im Glas findet sich ein hellgolgelbes, glänzend opaltrübes Bier mit sehr feiner Perlage. Die weiße, feinporige Schaumkrone hält dabei etwas weniger gut als erwartet. In der Nase nimmt man spelzig-getreidige Malznoten mit einem Hauch Hefe wahr. Leicht grasige bis kräuterartige und zartwürzige Hopfennoten spielen dabei gut mit. Der Antrunk kommt sehr frisch, angenehm spritzig, überraschend schlank und sehr deutlich, kräuterartig hopfig herb. Am Gaumen vernimmt man wieder mehr getreidige Malzigkeit und einen zarten Hauch von Zitrus - wobei die grasige, heuige und kräuterartige Hopfendominanz doch überwiegt. Das schlanke, trockene und adstringierende Mundgefühl wirkt dabei sehr elegant und erzeugt eine hohe Drinkability. Die Gesamtaromatik kann ebenfalls mit einer klaren und sehr sauberen Linie überzeugen. Auch wenn sich dieses Bier ganz eindeutig von der hopfigen Seite zeugt, fällt es nie in eine zu kantige Schiene ab. Im Nachtrunk wirken die malzigen und hopfigen Aromen sehr schön nach und ergänzen sich dabei, wie bereits im gesamten Trinkverlauf auch, sehr schön. Etwas später stellt sich eine leicht trockene und absolut passende Hopfencharakteristik ein. Mein Fazit: Ein sehr toll und aromatisch gehopftes helles Lager, welches ein wenig in die Kerbe eines Pils schlägt. Sehr positiv zu erwähnen ist dabei, dass mit traditionellen Hallertauer Hopfensorten gearbeitet wurde.

Aug 6, 2022. Had another one today. Bottle from Haussmann Getränke. Golden yellow amber, light haze and good head. Nose is full, wet fresh-cut hay, a touch vegetal. Fresh, moderate body, a hint of sweetness like chewing on a ripe stem of seeding grass. Earthy, powerful bitterness. Tasty one from Wolnzach!

(Bottle) Hazy golden colour with frothy, white head. Malty nose with white bread, grain, hay, lemon and clover flowers. Malty taste with sourdough bread, lemon, honey, a lite spiciness, grain and a gentle herbal bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Harmonious and well balanced. Quite nice.

500 ml bottle. Unclear golden with a big fluffy head. Floral grassy hops, lemon zest, sourdough, grapefruit zest, freshly mowed grass. Dry hoppy bitterness, light grainy sweetness. Medium bodied, oily texture, lively to soft carbonated, dry hoppy grassy grainy finish. Wow, excellent Helles!

Bottle from Haussmann Getränke. Mostly clear gold, nice head. Big slightly spicy nose with a rich malty aroma. The flavor proves it an excellent medium-bodied but not too sweet example of classic Helles. Nice bitterness balancing the big (for a lager) flavor. Great one!

Bottle, thanks Fin&Loz! Deep lightly hazy amber, plentiful carbonation, rocky golden head. Light dusty caramel nose. Juicy chewy malt on the palate, fruity base both from the grains and the hops, Citrus, honeymelon, light tropical. Lovely stuff.

Bottle picked up at Haussmann Getränke, drunk after picking up construction trash and cutting an old metal door in two. Creamy cloud of foam on yellow amber Helles. Very nice mild citrus aroma with a hint of sweetness. Flavor is wonderfully hopped lager: a wee bit dank and piney on a bed of smooth citrus. Medium dry body, mild grain flavor, with full but not overwhelming bitterness. This is really an excellent hopped lager!

Bottle picked up from Sulzberger Bierhaus, Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm had this Monday 27th March 2023 after a visit to Walhalla nr Regensburg. We're listening to a Fin Mix playlist and about to cook Käsespätzle. Pours light amber, excellent clarity, clear as a bell, mid sized white head. Good maltiness from the off. A nice little bite, gentle bitterness, a little bit dry, actually a little more bitter than expected, some light toffee apple. Good.

Bottle picked up from Sulzberger Bierhaus Pfaffenhofen an der Ilm and consumed at home Wednesday 1st March 2023 listening to Marc Riley on 6Music, we had a vegetarian curry with rice. This is the 2022 version and 9.7%. Pours dark brown, lively pour, tan head, super soft mouthfeel, creamy, light woodiness actually there is a very slight reddy glint. Pleasant, in fact very decent.
