Slightly aged sample Small yellowish head over finely carbonated veiled amber ale. Typical sweet oxydation nose, common for sweeter German beers. Bread, chestnut flour, leafy, old paper. Sweet, bready, milkchocolate, with a faint hoppy revival in the finish. Again (faint) oxydation. Chewy, at least medium bodied, very well carbonated. Pretty durchschnittlich. Txs to Stef!

0.5 l bottle from 'Bierhandwerk', best before December 2024. Hazy, golden yellow with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, white head. Slightly sweetish, gently grassy-spicy, moderately fruity-floral aroma of fresh grass, lemon peel, some pineapple and light grains. Moderately sweet, slightly bitter, gently grassy-spicy, juicy and a bit fruity-floral taste of grains, honey, lemon peel, fresh grass and a touch of pineapple, followed by a short, moderately bitter, a little dry finish. Medium to full body, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Refreshing but moreish lager, somehow simple and yet with lots to offer.

Bottle at Lange Nacht der Brauereien. Brown. Deep chestnut, malty caramel, dark fresh bread with cold butter. Taste is round and full and roasted, earthy, moreish. This is lovely.

A couple months expired. Gold with a frothy, white head. Soft, honey notes. A touch herbal and grainy. (Tough aromatics though outside by the grill.) Taste is mildly bitter with soft, malty undertones. Crisp finish reminiscent of a Pils. Medium-bodied, balanced carbonation, smooth. Good.

Enjoyed at home while testing equipment and recipes for the Sweden expedition. Gold with a frothy, white head. Grassy, herbal aroma with white bread. Taste is bitter with a touch of dough-like sweetness underneath. Finishes bittersweet to mildly sweet. Medium bodied, moderate carbonation. Sweeter than a normal Kellerbier. Good.

500 ml bottle. Cloudy orange with a big fluffy head. Quite malty, stone fruit, bread, rye, honey. Hoppy bitterness, malty sweetness. Full to medium bodied, oily texture, lively carbonated, dry malty bittersweet finish. Good crisp hoppy Festbier!
