Description
Saint Somewhere Brewing Company is a brewer of traditional Farmhouse ales located in Tarpon Springs, Florida. We are a small batch brewery using only the finest ingredients available. Belgian malt and wheat, whole noble hops and open fermentation add to the complexity of our ales. Our beers are unfiltered and re-fermented in the bottle, not engineered, but truly hand crafted.

Bottle split at the Jack is back tasting, thanks to Kenny for this offering, 06/03/14. Orange amber with a big old off white head of bubbles. Nose is tangy fruits, apricot, straw, pithy orange, light yeast tones. Taste comprises orange marmalade, straw, light booze notes (strange for a 6.5% saison!), hint of brett, apricot, citric pithdom, light spice. Medium bodied +, fine carbonation, drying close. Decent enough saison, strangely thick and boozey for the ABV!

Bottle thanks to Ken. It pours hazy amber with a medium yellow-white head. The nose is musty, orange peel, candy, sherbet, pretty sweet...earth, herbal, Brett and funk. The taste is funky, barnyard, earth, herbal, spice, Brett, orange peel, metallic and brioche with a bitter, funky finish. Medium body and high carbonation. A bit unbalanced, but still alright.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Ken. Pours cloudy gold with a thick, off-white head. Lots of yeasty dough in the nose, touches of tangy citrus. Medium sweet flavor, a bit of poopy brett, tangerine, mild pine needles, slight alcohol warmth. Medium bodied with average carbonation and creamy texture. Lightly warming to finish, some orange, tangerine, lightly sugary pale dough. Decent.

750mL bottle about 2 years old. Aroma is surprisingly nice with moderate acidity, light fruit and faint phenolics. Fruit is citrus, tropical fruit, cherry and overripe apples. Not really any malt character. Moderate tannins compliment the acidity and fruit notes. Pours a copper orange with a thin, light tan head that quickly disappears. No lacing or legs. Flavor is moderately tart with a lot of cherry pie and pineapple. Some light fruit esters and low tannins. Malt character is washed out and unpleasant with stale cardboard and old toasted bread. Low bitterness and faint alcohol notes. Mouthfeel Is medium bodied with medium low carbonation. Low astringency and medium low alcohol warmth. Overall the aroma is very nice, but the flavor doesn’t match expectations. The flavor tastes like a beer that started out with a light acidity and a balanced Maly character, but the acidity had been increasing while the malt has faded. With more time maybe the malt fades completely, but with this amount of time its not great.

A hazed golden saison with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with Brett, light lactic notes, light coriander, fruity esters, pleasant. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with light grassy hops, light Brett, light lactic notes, faint oxydation, still solid after 9 years. Bottle from 2013.
