J’espère une amélioration l’an prochain.

Last of the four new brews from this brewery, tonight. Pours a hazy deep amber colour with a frothy-creamy warm cap, good retention and full lacing. Beautiful fresh aromas of the hops (pine, citrus zest, grass). Fruity malt taste with notes of oranges, other citruses in the finish and hints of cereal. A pretty nice, easier-drinking Imperial IPA.

Third of four new brews by this brewer tonight. Pours a clean amber colour with a smaller warm cap, average retention and a little lacing. Munich malt grain aromas with hints of caramel malts and soda water. The Oktoberfest grain is present in the taste as well, but the sweetness from the caramel malt is a little too powerful and makes this brew not as palatable as other of this style I have had these last few months.

Part of their new IPA collection, this red IPA pours a real dark amber colour with a creamy-froth beige head, great retention and loads of lacing. Grassy mild nose with the Cluster hops over the caramel hops and hints of fruits (mostly berries). Decent bitterness in the mouthfeel with some nice dryness. The malt is not as strong in this one (compared to the Black IPA), with notes of caramel and mild roasted malts. More grassy hops, so for those who like hoppy red ales, this is for you.

Part of their new collection, this black IPA pour a real dark colour with a big creamy beige-mocha head that stays long, leaving great lacing all-over. Great aromas of roasted malts blended with hints of vanilla, and the typical chocolate-coffee notes. The mild grass is present at first pour, but gets lost after breathing. The hops are more in the taste, at first with the stout characteristics in the middle, and then again, the grass coming out to give a little of bitterness in the finish. A nice Black IPA that is more on the Stout-side of things, than IPA for those who prefer this. Very nice !

Bouteille 341ml.

Pours a clean copper colour with a frothy beige head, decent retention and a little lace. Aromas are mild with sweet toffee, burnt roasted malts and some hoppy grass. This last one seems to disappear as the beer breathes, and metallic notes appear. Sweet tasting, but not overly. Malty mostly with the caramel mixed to the light hop finish. The roasted malt seems well balanced in there. Hints of dark fruits and spices. Not a complex Scotch ale, but an easier drinking one, which tastes better with time.

This lager poured a light yellow colour with a quickly living, bright white head. Scents include corn, metal and dough. First swig was very watery and lifeless. Flavours of really light dough, malt and corn. Finish is watery malt with the lightest hop flavour.

This amber ale poured a deep amber colour with a light tan coloured head. Minimal lacing. Scents include sweet malt, cereal and caramel. First swig had medium/low carbonation with a slightly watery mouthfeel. Flavours of semi-roasted malts and light hop flavours with a little toast on the side. Finish is lightly bitter with a little hop flavour lingering.

Bottle: Poured a light amber color ale with large foamy head with OK retention and some light lacing. Aroma of light caramel malt and clean cereal notes is pretty good for style. Taste is also dominated by caramel malt with clean cereal notes. Body is about average with good carbonation. On par with style with nice clean finish and good drinkability.
