330ml bottle purchased from the Offie and drunk at home. Light gold and clear with a ring of white head. Full candy sugar yeast aroma with some orange peel. Really enticing. Taste is more of a let-down: slightly sweet with a souring short finish. Very watery body, heavy carbonation. A fairly mixed bag but fairly enjoyable.

Bottle sourced from Saveur-Bière and drunk at home (14/03/2022) - pours near black with a off white head. Mix of dark malts, dark dried fruit shred, with notes of caramel and fudge giving some sweetness but tart tangy cherry prevailing vibes coming through, Belgian yeast esters, dark fruity finish. Ok.

Bottle from Geers. Hazy dark brown to black, small, frothy, tan head. Aroma of raisin, fig, ripe plum, dried banana, toffee, toast, jam. Taste has sweet prune, fig & raisin, sourish brambleberry over toasty & toffee-like maltiness. Herbal hoppy finish that is slightly roasted, with dried fruits and softly warming liqueur-like alcohol. Medium body, slick texture, average carbonation. Nice one, atypically Belgian too I'd say.

Bottle at home in Hackney - sourced from Beautiful Beers. Pours clear black-brown with a frothy, khaki head. Lightly sweet with notes of subtly tangy dark fruits, light roast, earth, Belgian yeast, raisins, leather. Medium bodied with active, massaging carbonation. Only mild warmth in the finish, some lightly ashy roast, earth, dried berries. Interesting stuff. Alright overall.

Bottle from Geers. Hazy amber, thin, frothy, off-white head. Aroma of red apple, overripe plum, date, raisin, caramel, brioche, green tea, pear syrup. Taste has sweet date, red apple, pear & plum in a caramelly malt body, a bit syrupy but not yet cloying, with a soft spicy bitterness providing balance. Herbal hoppy finish, gently woody, lingering candied fruit, dried orange peel and warming triple sec-like alcohol. Medium body, oily-syrupy texture, average carbonation. Pretty decent beer; it has all you want from a sweet Belgian Quad.

I obtained a 33 cl bottle from Finest Belgian Beers some time ago and am ready to have a sampling. My Trappistes Rochefort glass is being used, haven't had it out in a while. I see an amber-brown body, a slender top of of taupe bubbles and a strong carbonation. No problem with the smell, dates, grain and candi sugar. A drink following, not bad. Figs, raisins, wheat bread, some out of the ordinary spiciness, hay, wood and syrup. Some bitterness, a bit of sweetness and a little heat. Different somewhat from any quad I have previously had.

0,33 bottle. Clever, cheerful label. Very nice deep reddish chestnut color, huge light brown head. Aroma: caramel, sweet, dried fruit, roasted, coffee complex. Sweet, caramel sip, carbonation stinging. Strong coffee in the aftertaste. Medium-bodied, slightly tart, reminds me of sour berries. Slightly dry. Quite a serious little beer. This is what I imagined an Imperial porter to be like... Alcohol is felt, it would be good in a cold port :)

Ötletes, vidám címke. Nagyon szép mély vöröses gesztenyebarna szín, hatalmas világosbarna hab. Aroma: karamell, édeskés, aszalt gyümölcsös, mellette pörköltes, kávés komplex. Édes, karamelles korty, szénsav szúrós. Utóízben erősen kávés. Közepesen testes, kissé fanyar, savanyú bogyós gyümölcsöket juttat eszembe. Kissé száraz. Elég komoly kis sör. Ilyennek képzeltem egy ipmerial portert... Alkohol érződik, jól eshet egy hideg kikötőben :)
