Cask at GBBF 2016. It pours clear dark brown with a medium white head. The aroma is toasty, earthy, wood, leather, dark fruits, malt loaf and grape jam. The taste is dry, bitter, wood, earth, toasted grain, leather, peppery spice, malt loaf, ash and dirt with a rather dry finish. Light body and soft carbonation. Too dry and dirty for my tastes. Ok for style, but no game-changer.

Cask at GBBF ’16, day one, 09/08/16. Extremely dark mahogany brown with a decent sized beige head. Nose is brown bread, toffee, liquorice, spice. Taste comprises toffee, biscuit, earthy fruit rinds, light spice, grain. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, semi drying close. Decent enough mild.

Cask at GBBF 2016 09/08/2016. A reddy chestnut brown coloured pour with a halo of white head. Aroma is brown bread, woody, dried fruits. Flavour is composed of bitter black malts, toffee dried apple tangy fruits. Nutty, hint of vanilla. Palate is watery, semi sweet, woody tannin. Good.

[ As Rother Valley Boadicea Ale ].Clear medium orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, pale malt, fruity malt, toasted, moderate hoppy, orange - citrus, fruity hops. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration, fruity hops, fruity malt, caramel, toasted, pale malt, medium dry. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft to flat. [20160223]

Cask gravity at Kent & East Sussex Railway BF 2016. 4.6% golden ale. Haze deep amber colour lasting beige head. A touch of burnt rubber on the aroma. Burnt toffee in the mouth. Worty. Some peppery hop. Doesn’t taste fully attenuated. Couldn’t finish a third. Not good. Burnt rubber. Malt and pepper hop ok .

(Cask at Craft Beer Covent Garden, London, 19 Apr 2016) Golden amber colour with frothy, white head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of peaches, grass and toast. Fruity, malty taste with apricots, grass, toast and a slightly herbal bitterness with a touch of earthy hops. Medium body, with a slight sweetness. Tasty and well balanced bitter. Quite nice.

Cask at The Harp, Trafalgar Square, London. A dark brown coloured pour with a thin off white head on top. Aroma of dark fruit and chocolate. Tastes similar, dark fruit, some chocolate but also very bitter which spoilt it for me.

Cask at CBC, Covent Garden on 17th January 2016. Clear amber with off-white scantily lacing foam. Butterscotch biscuit malt dominates aroma and liquid pass. Finish very biscuity for almost a whole minute before a complex and delicious blend of grassy hops kicks in. The two intense foci of flavour made this beer an enjoyable one for me. Zingy mouthfeel and medium body.

Cask at the Southampton Arms, London on 3rd November 2015. Deep reddish sepia with off-white decreasing foam and scant lacing. Very fruity aroma with berries and a touch of chocolate. Malty and fruity in-mouth with berries, touch of unsweet cola; sweet, fruity finish. Smooth mouthfeel and medium body. Rated as a novelty ale.
