Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear, orangey brown with a creamy, lacing, beige head. Aroma is dusty with a coffee edge and then sweet caramelly malts. Rich, sweet body with faint licorice accents and agai this dusty coffee note. Very little hops for balance. 250325

Small tan-mossy rim over dark cola-coloured beer. Bourbon, raisins, boerejongens , old wine, preserved cherries in alcohol. Dry, holly leaf, old wood, Bourbon, raisins, roosvicee, ending more sweet. Quite heavy & oily, dense, bit syrupy. Alcoholwarming. Aha. Here's a relatively recent De Molen that is in the best Menno Olivier tradition. Not that it helps its demise. Txs to Stef!

0.33 l bottle from 'Mr. Hop', best before June 2029. A bit hazy, very dark ruby with a thin, slightly frothy, quickly diminishing, beige head. Intensely sweetish-malty, gently fruity and a little boozy aroma of molasses, caramel, almond, dark fruits and cocoa. Very sweet, malty, quite fruity and slightly boozy taste of molasses, caramel, dark fruits, almond, cocoa and some nuts, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, slightly boozy finish. Medium to full body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Very tasty beer, although I prefer my Eisbock without additions. However, I think that cocoa and almond match quite well with the fruity flavours and pleasantly disguise the booze as well.

Bottle at home, köszi Panni!! Pours jet black with beige head. It's super dark and roasted malty both in aroma and taste, quite earthy with a touch of coffee and a boozy kick. Closes with boozy and roasted finish, has medium to heavy body and soft carbo. Perhaps a bit too much roasted character in there for me, but it's a delicious oldschool RIS nevertheless.

Bottle at home, cellared for 1.5 years, I think this one’s was a gift from Kini, koszi! Pours copper with thin beige head. Nose is sweet notes of booze, nuts, bready malts, woody notes, super light smoke. Taste is also sweet, but not overwhelmingly, showing booze, light vanilla, wood, dried fruits and malts with just a tiny bit of bitternes on the palate. Medium bodied with soft carbo, nice sipper. Nicely balanced and well rounded.

Tap at Grand. Copper pour, off-white head. Nose is dank, caramely west coast IPA. Taste is overwhelming caramel, some hoppy touch, somewhat watery altogether. The nosr is promising, taste doesnt deliver.

Bottle at home, after cellaring it for a bit over a year. Pours jet black with beige head. Nose is cocoa powder, milk chocolate, some sweet booze, perhaps a touch of herbs but it might be just me knowing there's aloe vera in there. Taste is cocoa powder, chocolate, booze, malts, fairly creamy all in all. Closes with a sweet finish, has an average, creamy body and soft carbonation. All in all a solid, but kinda uniteresting RIS with the supposed addition of aloe vera being rather subtle (ie barely noticable).
