50 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Trinkgut, Kleve. Clear dark golden with a white head. Weizen aroma with some sour note. Sweet taste with a bitter low sour finish. Some fruitiness as well. Interesting brew but not necessarily very tasty.

Murky hazy brown. Huge head, yeasty bread nose. Flavor is very concentrated bread yeast, super carbonated, light caramel, mild hop character. Not bad but very strange, some mild off flavors I can't much identify.

Bottle from Haussmann Getränke. Brownish amber with a great head, strange nose with a bit of spoiled veg (?) Which fortunately I don't notice in the taste. Flavor has mainly some interesting bready grain/yeast notes, a bit like my mom's punching bread. Little hop character noticeable. Very high carb. Note: over time the nose improved to be less vegetal and a bit more bread-yeast.

50 cl. bottle @ home, bought @ Trinkgut, Kleve. Clear dark amber with a thin white head. Caramel aroma with a sour almost vinous note. Sweet taste with again a sour note. Light metallic and some cardboard. Thin bodied. A bit strange and not entirely convincing.

500ml bottle pours out amber topped with a fluffy head. Nose is some booze barrel notes sweet pit fruit. Taste is more of the nice sweet pit fruit malts and a touch of vanilla from the barrel.

Ziemlich extreme Schaumentwicklung. Schön sämige Konsistenz. Sehr schmackhaft.

Bottle from the Elsfleth Hol-ab. Amber with a frothy, white head that lingers for the duration. Aroma is mostly barrel with grainy undertones. Taste is bittersweet, trending sour at the end. Medium bodied, balanced carbonation. There’s a nice balance between the oak, graininess and the whiskey. And the mix of sweet, sour and bitter is impressive for a beer in this price range. Overall, good!

Thanks David. Smooth mild malty beginning. Woody grainy with a slightly sourish touch - more like whisky sour than soured beer. Moderate bitter in the aftertaste, grain there and sourish whisky. A bit strange. --- Beer merged from original tick of Chuck's Barrel on 07 Apr 2020 at 21:45 - Score: 5. Original review text: Grainy with sourish whisky parts. Not well-balanced. Whisky sour with grain, not much bitterness. Somehow strange. Thanks David!
