Description
The Wild Beer Co was born in 2012 out of a love of fermentation, barrel-ageing and most importantly, flavour. We believe exceptional brewing stems from imagination and passion. Our beers are brewed using modern creative techniques and ingredients while producing some of the world’s oldest beer styles guaranteed to give you a memorable drinking experience.
Curious bought Wild Beer Co out of administration in a deal that involved the beer brands and intellectual property of Wild Beer Co, but not its Somerset-based brewery production facilities. The Curious and Wild Beer Co businesses were transfered into the hands of St Peter’s in 2023.

Tap at FFB20, shared with the crew. I only took numerical notes while having this one.

Tap at KEG. Jet black pour, brownish head. Nose is dark malts, roasted character, coffee, light earthy touch, dark chocolate. Taste is sweet booze, dry and somewhat bitter coffee, dark chocolate and dark malts, a hint of vanilla to round the edges a bit. Closes with somewhat sweet, warming finish, has medium body and soft carbonation.

On tap at KEG. Semi hazy yellow pour, white head. Nose is hoppy funky. Taste is less funk, even though it's there, and more hops. Not overwhelmingly bitter, more on the fruity/grassy side. Light body, average carbonation.

Bottle shared at work. Pours copper with a burgundy hue and no head. Nose is fruit stones, light acetic acid, malty sweetness, restrained booze, some funk. Taste is light sweetness of the malts and booze, bourbon notes, a spicy woody touch, moderate tartness, sour cherries, funk. Closes with tart finish, has medium body and average carbo. Tasty but I expected more complexity.

Bottle. Slightly unclear pink/reddish body with a pinkish, dense head. Aroma is mostly raspberries. Flavor is also raspberries, sour raspberries and frankly not much more. Medium body and sour raspberry aftertaste. Sure refreshing, but very one-dimensional. One of the few beers from Wildbeer that has been a disappointment for me.

Bottle. Slightly unclear purple body with a small, pale pink head. A bit unusually aroma, ripe fruit, acidic berries, minerals and seaweed. Flavor has slightly acid berries, some fruit in general and minerals. A bit thin body, feels both sweet and acidic. Something between weird and interesting but nothing I would by again.

Bottle. Clear golden body with a small white head. Aroma is fruity hops, but more like tropical fruits than expected from Sorachi Ace (e.g. no bubble gum aroma). Nice saison flavor, spicy yeast, pepper and slightly farmhouse funk. Nothing mind blowing but sure a nice and easy drinkable, almost classic Saison.

Strong lemon zest, earthy malts, some savory notes and some hints of melon and ginger. Effervescent, lively carb. Tart finish, earthy lemon, and savory herbs notes.
