Bottle: Poured a deep burgundy color ale with an average size head with average retention and not much lacing. Aroma of anises really dominates but traces of overcooked vedgetables are also noticeables. Taste is a weird mix since anise bring an interesting edge to the Belgian malt with the presence of candi sugar also noticeable but the DMS really ruins everything. Average body with good carbonation and no alcohol was apparent.

Bouteille 341ml. De couleur brune foncée et claire. Nez de chocolat au lait sucré, de malt légèrement rôti, léger de houblon herbeux et avec des notes fruitées (figues) et de café ainsi que des traces de fumée de tabac. Moyenne-mince en bouche avec un pétillement moyen et une texture moyennement crémeuse. Léger goût de fumée de tabac accompagné de notes fruitées (figues, traces de cerises noires) lors de lentrée en bouche auquel se rajoute un goût moyennement amer de malt bien rôti, un moyen goût de chocolat et des traces de mélasse sucrée puis en finale lon retrouve un moyen goût de café ainsi qu une moyenne amertume de houblon herbeux avec des petites notes dalcool et de fumée de bois. Post-goût moyen-long et aux notes asséchantes, moyennement amer de rôti, de café, léger de chocolat et de houblon ainsi qu avec des notes dalcool, de fumée de bois et de fruits (moût de cerises).

Bottle: Poured a deep amber color ale with a nice foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light sweet malt is quite bland. Taste is also dominated by some light sweet malt with limited characteristics and no cherries were really noticeable. Full body with good carbonation and no alcohol was apparent. Way too bland for the style.

Brown bottle, 750 ml, purchased at Le Grand Duc on December 5 2008, savoured on January 1 2009; eye: straw, hazy, slight effervescence, champagne-style white head that falls rapidly and forms a tiny sheet, good lacing; nose: almost equal balance of blackberry and yeast, light banana, fruity; mouth: fresh, fizzy, blackberry, yeast, light banana, fruity, finale in blackberry with a good presence of yeast, light acidity and acridness, lightly sweet, medium body; overall: special FRANÇAIS Bouteille brune, 750 ml, achetée chez Le Grand Duc le 5 décembre 2008, savourée le 1er janvier 2009; œil : paille, voilée, très légère effervescence, mousse blanche style champagne qui tombe rapidement et se transforme en une petite couverture, bonne dentelle; nez : mélange presque égale de levure et mûres, léger banane, fruité; bouche : frais, pétillant, mûres, levure, léger banane, fruité, finale en mûre avec une bonne présence de levure, bonne carbonatation, légère acidité et âcreté, légèrement sucrée, corps moyen; en résumé : spécial

Bottle: Poured a deep cloudy amber color ale with a large foamy head with average retention and no lacing. Aroma of sweet malt with some light alcohol ester also discernable. Taste is a mix between some very sweet malt with a strong spicy/peperry yeast and some alcohol. Taste is bit harsh at first but you get use to it. Full body with average carbonation and some alcohol was dicernable. Not the best scotch ale I ever tried...

(La Distincte) Bouteille 341ml. De couleur ambrée et voilée. Nez malté de biscuits avec des notes de caramel sucré et de grains de céréales, moyennement fruité (agrumes, léger de pêches) et léger de houblon herbeux aux faibles notes terreuses. Moyennement ronde en bouche avec un pétillement moyen et une texture aux notes aqueuses. Goût de levures fruitées (agrumes, notes de pêches, traces de pommes) avec des traces de légumes bouillis lors de l entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute un goût malté de biscuits, léger de céréales et avec des notes de caramel sucré et rôti. Parallèlement, l on retrouve une moyenne amertume (un peu asséchante) de houblon herbeux, légèrement floral aux faibles notes terreuses. Post-goût moyen et un peu sec, moyen amer de houblon herbeux-floral avec un léger goût fruité (zest d agrumes, noyau de pêche).

Bottle: Poured a golden slightly hazy color ale with a good size head with good retention and minimal lacing. Aroma consists of lightly funky ester with some noticeable malt backbone. Taste is also a mix between some funky ester with some noticeable Belgian style malt. Full body with some good carbonation but unfortunately lacking some hops and character to be truly inspiring.

Brown bottle, 750 ml, purchased via Le Grand Duc, the toughest bottle I have ever opened I had to use a knife, a spoon handle, pliers and elbow grease, savoured on December 13 2008, eye unfiltered apple juice, champagne-style white head that disappears completely, no effervescence, no lacing, nose yeast, champagne, wheat, light fruit, mouth yeast, banana, wheat, wheat acidity, finale in damp grain with presence of yeast, not much carbonation, a bit thin, slightly sweet, medium light body, overall ordinary

Bottle: Poured a medium gold color ale with a large pure white foamy head with great retention and some good lacing. Aroma consists of wheat malt with some light coriander and orange peel also noticeable. Taste is a mix between some thin wheat malt with some light coriander and some orange peel. Body is too thin for the style with some good carbonation. I have tasted worse from this brewery but this one is not too bad.

A hazy golden ale with a thick off white head. A pleasant herbal coriander malt, with a bit of Brett. In mouth, a smooth dry malt with coriander, Curacao and good hopping. Medium bodied.
