Description
We started Braybrooke in 2017 with just one aim - to make really good lager. Beer doesn’t have to be complicated as long as it’s made in the right way with a commitment to quality. That’s exactly what we’re doing, brewing proper lager in the heart of the English countryside, near Market Harborough.

330ml bottle from Baccanalia, Cambridge. Supped watching a French documentary on the DGSE. Pours a hazed deep amber, off-white head. Welcoming smoked malt aroma. Flavour profile presents a nicely balanced smoky character, good smoked malt presence, gentle caramel with firewood, barrel, mild smoked pork. Not as intense as some, but all the better for it. Excellent drinkability.

330ml bottle. Almost clear yellow gold, white head. Aroma of pale and bready malts, grains. Taste of pale malts, bready, grains, mildly toasty, mildly grassy herbal hop notes. Great flavour for a low ABV lager, could easily believe it's twice the strength. Brilliant.

Bottle from Great Grog. Golden body with a gentle haze and a thick white head. Lively carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of white bread and zingy lemon. Flavour of salted lemon, herbs and grapefruit peel. Thin to medium body with a slick texture. Very fizzy. It’s unfortunately overcarbonated but the flavour is bright and hoppy.

Bottle from Great Grog. Amber body with a light haze and a thick off-white head. Steady carbonation. Faint lacing. Aroma of dried leaves and brown bread. Flavour of toffee, marzipan and earthy hops. Medium body with a slick texture. Light fizz. Braybrooke might be my favourite UK lager brewery.

330ml bottle, thanks to Mark. Pours a misty gold, large white head. Pilsner malt aroma. Crisp palate with a pleasant balanced malt sweetness, nice bitter close. Proper nice pils with just the right level of sweetness.

Bouteille 33cl, BB 29/07/2023, gyle# 824.

On tap at Azvex, pours a clear copper orange with a small white head. Aroma is malty, with dry bready malt, a hint of caramel, and some herbal notes. Flavour is dry and malty, with bready notes, very light herbal notes, and straw. Bready, dry-ish finish nothing very interesting or on-point. Meh.
