Pours a medium colored, clear blonde. lighter than the regular version. Foam dissapears nearly instantly. Scent is sharp, bit brett, very distant oakyness. Bit of that amlam typicality. Less intense, less complex than the regular version, but also less... 'wrong' Taste is full, tart, dry. Fairly complex. mild on the amlam character, malty, higher acidity than the base version. Less 'off' . A pretty basic acidity compared to the better geuze's, but this one for sure, falls way better in line with real geuze than the regular version. High carbonation, almost champagne like. I'm not disliking this !

One of them early-on American 'geuze' ticks I have spent quite some time hunting. been storing this one in my cellar for a while, perhaps a few years, untill i became to annoyed to wait any longer for 'the right tasting' and just solodomeing this one (and probably the version spontanee soon) Pours a dark copperamber, no head; Scent is simple, lactic acid, very typical amlam. Oaky, some funk (brett) and aged factors. Taste is very smokey-brett, way less lactic than expected. Age surely shows, and not in the best way. bit buttery. Medium acidity, lower medium even. Bit rubbery, some chlorophenolic aspects as well. All this make it sound undrinkable - which it isn't (though most definately subaverage) very low carbonation. Cool tick, not a great beer though and not at all what a geuze should be.

Shared can at Mandag i Annen. ABV is 6.9%. Mahogany colour, small head. Both aroma and flavour have a good malt character, but there are also some unwanted hints of lacquer. Too high fermentation temperature? Low bitterness, as expected from the style.

A pure white head on a yellow/gold body. Citrus, wheat and a touch of sour on the nose. Taste leads with a mix of citrus and other fruit notes - lemon, orange, melon and cantaloupe. Well spiced with a roasted grain base.

An energetic off white head on a deep brown body. Nose is chocolate, roasted nuts, coffee and malt. Very clean, brown ale first taste. Ground nuts, milk chocolate, mild coffee and some caramel create a nice understated taste profile. Body is appropriate for a 4.5% ale. Tasty and balanced.

Consumed on Day 4 of the Verendrye route. Drunk far too tepid due to warm lake temperatures. Dark brown. Foamy light brown head. Coffee and coffee grounds aroma. Taste is bittersweet with a bitter coffee grounds finish. Straightforward coffee stout lacking much in the way of nuance.
